Horn Book Review
This meager biography will certainly not ôwowö readers. The sappy prose and few photographs provide little relevant information (about his diapers: ôPrince William was BritainÆs first prince to wear disposable ones!ö). Report writers and fans would be better served by the many newspaper and magazine articles about this future king. A timeline is included. Bib., ind. (c) Copyright 2010. Booklist Review
Gr. 4-6. W.O.W. would be William of Wales, known far and wide as the son of the late Princess Diana and Prince Charles--and as the future king of England. The book is formulaic, but it doesn't have to go far to generate excitement among young girls, its most likely audience. Landau sticks to the facts, and though she's discreet, she talks plainly about the disintegrating marriage of William's parents. She still keeps the focus on William--Diana's death only gets two pages of text. There are lots of well-chosen, crisply reproduced color photos to wow W.O.W. watchers. It's in the pictures that Diana gets her due; plenty of them show her. A very short bibliography and a chronology complete this entry in the Gateway Biography series. Ilene Cooper.
