Summary
Summary
The climactic third novel in New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost's Night Prince series finds Vlad and his newly turned bride, Leila, at odds with each other--and vulnerable to the one vampire powerful enough to end the Dark Prince's reign . . .
Play with fire, pay the price
Leila's years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn't learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin . . .
Vlad must battle with a centuries-old enemy whose reach stretches across continents and whose strength equals his own. It isn't like Vlad to feel fear, but he does . . . for Leila, because his enemy knows she is Vlad's greatest weakness. As friend and foe alike align against him--and his overprotectiveness drives Leila away--Vlad's love for his new bride could be the very thing that dooms them both . . .

Leila Dalton should know that killing a vampire is never easy. After all, not only is Leila married to Vlad Basarab Dracul, she is now a vampire herself. Still, Leila can't believe that Mihaly Szilagyi, her husband's oldest enemy, has survived Vlad's last attempt to kill him. What's even worse is that Mihaly is definitely out for blood, and now he knows Vlad's greatest weakness his new wife, Leila. Frost wraps up the Night Prince trilogy (Once Burned, 2012; Twice Tempted, 2013) with another fierce tale of brutal danger, scorching desire, and plenty of spilled blood that will be devoured by readers who crave intense love stories that skew towards the darker side of paranormal romance.--Charles, John Copyright 2015 Booklist
Library Journal Review
Sparks continue to fly as newly wedded Vlad and his recently turned vampire bride, Leila, struggle to resolve Vlad's overprotectiveness and Leila's need for independence. After all, a 600-year age and culture gap are hard to overcome, and Leila is still learning the vampire ways and how to control her powers. But Vlad's archnemesis is on the move, and when Leila is captured, she knows she must be clever and strong because Vlad will risk anything to get her back-and that's exactly what the evil Szilagyi intends. VERDICT Intense, passionate, and violent, Frost's latest addition to her "Night Prince" quartet keeps the fiery pages turning and the action quick as it takes Vlad and Leila's relationship to the next level and sets the stage for the final book in the series. Frost (The Beautiful Ashes) divides her time between North Carolina and Florida. (c) Copyright 2015. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
