Summary
Abigail Schrock stands happily next to her younger sister as Joanna marries her childhood love. Joanna has been through so much and deserves this happy day, but Abigail can't deny the little thread of jealousy. She had hopes of having her own wedding soon-that is, until the boy who'd been courting her left her for another girl. A much prettier girl. Can any man love her after she has given her heart, her everything, to another man who so carelessly tossed it aside? Asa Bontrager has returned to the Birch Creek Amish community for the first time since his family moved away. But this return is not of his own volition. His path has been clearly marked by God, but for what purpose, he does not know. He only knows that he had to leave everything and everyone he loved behind. At least, he thought he left everyone he loved behind . . . until he lays eyes on Abigail. Asa knows his courtship of Abigail is what God wants, and as he spends more time with her, he begins to fall in love. But with all the heartbreak she has endured, can he convince her she is worth his love, and more importantly, the love of God?

Library Journal Review
In love, timing is everything. That's what Asa Bontrager believes when his repeated attempts to woo Abigail Schrock are rebuffed. Although she is wistful and somewhat self-pitying when her friends and siblings are marrying in rapid succession, Abigail is too filled with grief to allow herself to love anyone. Even though God has told Asa to pursue Abigail, Asa questions His purpose. Readers of this heartwarming romance will empathize with Abigail's struggles and feel inspired by the underlying theme of the role of faith and prayer in dealing with everyday crises. VERDICT Followers of this series (A Reluctant Bride; An Unbroken Heart) will recognize threads of other stories woven into this latest installment. A solid choice for readers who appreciate -Beverly Lewis, Wanda Brunstetter, and Vannetta Chapman. © Copyright 2016. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
